At Sunshine City Counseling, we believe that every human should have access to excellent care for their body, spirit and mind. We understand that, for many of us, we are privileged to not even have to think twice about this. For other folks, it is not something that has ever been afforded to them.
We want that to change.
It is our desire to be a part of the solution. It’s simple. By buying this t-shirt (or, like, 5) you are giving someone the opportunity to find hope, again, and begin to heal.
We’re serious when we say 100% of the profits go to subsidizing therapy for folks who otherwise could not afford mental health counseling. It’s that important to us.
The more shirts that are sold the more spots open up for more and more folks to have access to the kind of support they need. Counseling can truly be a matter of life and death.
The Darkness Will Not Win
It is such a weird thing, isn’t it? Feeling extremely alone and yet surrounded by people you love and who love you.
Gazing into the eyes of a newborn and feeling so much joy emanating from them and yet… you wonder if there is any for you.
Looking into the eyes of a close friend and seeing so much light and light in them and yet…will my light ever return?
You go to work and you smile and nod and do all the things but when no one is looking you take a deep breathe and gently wipe the lingering tear from your eye.
Darkness has found us all at one point or another in each of our stories. There is no one that is exempt. No specific age, social or economic status that can beat the darkness.
It will come and it will find you.
This is why Sunshine City Counseling exists. As mental health counselors, we push the darkness back just enough for you to catch a glimpse of the light. Someone once put it this way — “counselors absorb all of the darkness and bad in someones day or someones story so they can walk away a little lighter, a little free-er.”
Unfortunately, many will go without help in pushing the darkness back and in many cases the darkness will win. Sunshine City Counseling wants to be a part of the solution in fighting the darkness of your story, which is why we created The Better Together Campaign. What originally started out as a small idea has grown and expanded and we are grateful to be able to provide care in the state of Florida and Maine. While we have physical offices in downtown St. Petersburg, Fl, we also provide support outside of the state in order to bring exceptional mental health support right to your couch.
We support the state of Maine.
